Why I Chose Occupational Therapy

There wasn’t a specific time or event that led me to want to pursue occupational therapy. I became interested in the profession when my grandma received occupational therapy. It helped to preserve her independence and happiness in a very hard time of her life, and this led me to become interested in OT. After observing in many different settings I fell even more in love with OT and the independence that it can help to restore to individuals throughout the lifespan. It truly is one of the most diverse professions.

  1. I bet your grandma is glad to have played a role in your finding your way into OT. I'm so glad you are here!
