Post Interview Reflection

Looking back upon my interview, I feel like it went better than I was anticipating. As expected, there were nerves surrounding the interview and time leading up to it. I do believe I was able to successfully and confidently answer the questions and remain professional throughout it. To prepare for the interview I took time to reflect upon my strengths, weaknesses, and past interviews that I have had. I did some research on current job opportunities and statistics for the job setting that I was interviewing for in the event that I was asked questions regarding salary or job outlook. One thing that went different than expected was doing an interview virtually. While I did know this going into the mock interview, it still seemed a little different at times dealing with the lag of technology and talking with someone I didn’t know. If I was to go through this process again, I would have had better questions planned to ask my interviewer. I know this is something that is asked in every interview but for some reason I blanked when I was asked this and I think this is a really great way to end the interview strong. Asking the interviewer something about their company or mission could have been a great bonus.  A few things I learned from this process that will be helpful as I enter the workforce will be to remain confident before the interview. We are truly more prepared than we believe and the interview is a great time to show that.
